Abstract

The understanding of coherent optical experiments in semiconductors has significantly advanced in the last few years. First principles many-body theory has been developed that can describe many of the results.1 Phenomenologically, the inclusion of local fields,2 biexcitons3 and excitation induced dephasing (EID)4 also provides a good match to experiment and a physically intuitive picture.
