Dramatic impact of two photon absorption on multi soliton excitation in non-critically phase-matched biaxial crystals

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally and numerically that strong two photon absorption affects multiple quadratic soliton generation by high power 2D beams in a Type-I biaxial crystal (KNbO3). Simulations are in a good agreement with the experiment.
