Tuning the Nanooptics of Metallic Nanorods: Size, Geometry and End Effects

Abstract

The nanooptics of plasmons in metallic nanorods is investigated theoretically. The effects of nanorod size, shape and interrod coupling are studied. Rods with concave ends exhibit narrow, cavity-like resonances unlike typical plasmon resonances.
