Ultrafast Magnetization Control in III-Mn-V Ferromagnetic Semiconductors

Abstract

We show that a circularly polarized optical pulse can rotate the collective magnetization of a III-Mn-V ferromagnetic semiconductor during femtosecond time scales. Our theory highlights the important role of the hole-spin relaxation.
