Metaphoric Optical Computing of Fluid Dynamics

Abstract

Nonlinear optical propagation is recast in a comprehensive hydrodynamical formulation. The split-step method is proposed to combine optical devices as a configurable system that computes fluid dynamics, tremendously faster than even the fluid itself.
