Abstract

We propose tapered metal-gap (metal/dielectric/metal) waveguide for an adiabatic coupler to nano-optical devices. Coupled modes of surface plasmon polariton are excited by attenuated total reflection method. Observed peaks are attributed to excitation of coupled mode.
