Light slowing-down in superstructure fiber Bragg gratings

Abstract

Group velocity reduction of sub-nanosecond optical pulses at 1.5 µm is experimentally demonstrated in superstructure Bragg gratings, including Moire and phase-shifted gratings, fabricated on photosensitive fibers by the continuous-writing technique.
