Photon Emission Statistics and Coherence Properties of high-β Semiconductor Microcavity Lasers

Abstract

Complementary first- and second-order correlation experiments on high-β micropillar lasers are presented, which trace a smooth transition from spontaneous to stimulated emission. Our observations accord with refined theoretical calculations on semiconductor microlaser emission characteristics.
