Enhanced second order nonlinearity in AlGaAs microring resonators

Abstract

Second order nonlinear effects, such as second harmonic generation and parametric amplification, can be dramatically enhanced in microring resonator structures. The quasi-phasematching is achieved based on the position dependence of polarization inside the ring resonator.
