Effective Optical Response of Noble Metal Nanoparticle Arrays and Photonic Crystals with Embedded Nanoparticles

Abstract

We numerically extract the effective optical constants of noble metal nanoparticle arrays and use them to study photonic crystals with embedded nanaparticles. We find sharp resonant features such as absorption doubling per nanometer wavelength.
