Optical topography system for laser ablation plume measurements

Abstract

We image the nanoscale plasma plume of laser-ablated titanium metal by using a Shack-Hartmann based optical topographic system. We show this diagnostic produces data with ultrafast temporal resolution that is concurrent with simulations.
