Photon gun using a finite-size photonic crystal waveguide

Abstract

Modified spontaneous emission from a single-quantum-dot embedded in a small finite-size, photonic-crystal slab waveguide are investigated. We subsequently demonstrate very large Pur-cell factors that can be exploited to emit efficient single photons “on-chip”.
