Experimental Confirmation of Infrared Magnetic Response in a Random Silicon Carbide Micro-Powder

Abstract

We report the first experimental evidence of magnetic response in a randomly shaped and polydisperse SiC powder. The results match our theory well. This crude powder could immensely simplify the fabrication of negative permeability metamaterials.
