Controlling directionality of mirror-less lasing by pulse shaping and timing

Abstract

We study mirrorless lasing in a dye solution two-photon-pumped by a sequence of pre-chirped femtosecond pulses. We demonstrate control of lasing direction, without changing the excitation geometry, by adjusting the pump pulse timing and shape.
