Discrete Solitons in Photonic Lattices with Topological Defects

Abstract

We demonstrate numerically and experimentally how the presence of so-called Topological Defects represented by junctions within otherwise periodical planar photonic lattices influences the formation of discrete solitons similar to conventional defects constituted by detuned waveguides.
