Experimental investigation of dispersion-managed soliton interaction

Abstract

Fiber-optic dispersion-managed solitons can form stable molecules. Systematically mapping out parameter space using a flexible pulse shaper, we investigate the binding mechanism and confirm predictions. Phenomena off equilibrium are also described and explained.
