Pulse shaping using optical metamaterials with naturally anisotropic structural elements

Abstract

We numerically investigate a sub-class of metamaterials with anisotropic structural elements. We show such a metamaterial allows for placing electric and magnetic resonance bands close together, hence providing flexible manipulation of optical pulses.
