Quantum interferometry with photon-subtracted twin beams

Abstract

I propose a new type of Heisenberg-limited quantum interferometer: a Mach-Zehnder interferometer whose two-mode input is frequency-degenerate twin beams, emitted by a type-II optical parametric oscillator above threshold, and from which a photon was subtracted.
