Structure Localization in Ultrasound Video

Abstract

We address the problem of automated localization of pre-defined anatomical structures during an Ultrasound examination. This is motivated by the shortage of imaging experts in underserved areas of the world, where examinations often have to be performed by supporting staff. In such situations, acquiring medically relevant imaging material (that can be sent to experts for further analysis) can be a quite challenging task, primarily due to the lack of knowledge about the human anatomy and limited experience in Ultrasound imaging.
