Logical Bell state measurements with maximum loss-tolerance threshold using linear optics

Abstract

We show that linear optical logical Bell state measurements—a ubiquitous primitive for quantum information processing—can be realized with theoretically maximum photon loss tolerance (50%), overcoming the previous limit, believed to be at 1/√2.
