Large Single-Phonon Optomechanical Coupling Between III-V Quantum Dots and Surface-Acoustic-Wave Microcavities

Abstract

We demonstrate large single-phonon optomechanical coupling rates, g0= 1.2 MHz, between InAs quantum dots and surface-acoustic-wave microcavity resonators. We show that these systems can be used for microwave-to-optical quantum transduction at mK temperatures.
