Ferroelectric AlScN as an Extreme Nonlinear Quantum Material beyond LiNbO3

Abstract

Al(Sc)N-based quantum heterostructures exhibit over one order of magnitude enhancement of electro-optic coefficient and second-order susceptibility compared to AlN. Its ultrawide bandgap and extreme stability make it appealing as next-generation nonlinear quantum material beyond LiNbO3.
