Quantum Storage of Entangled Photons at Telecom Wavelengths in a Crystal

Abstract

We demonstrate a 400-ns storage of the time-bin entanglement between two telecom photons generated from an integrated silicon nitride chip with a 167Er3+:Y2SiO5 crystal, essential in the quantum-repeater architectures for realizing global fiber-based quantum networks.
