Abstract

A Tm:Ho:YLF(thulium:holmium:yttrium lithium fluoride) laser crystals with 6 at.% Tm and 0.5 at.% Ho doped has been investigated for 2.1 µm laser performance at room temperature. A 3 watts CW GaAlAs diode laser was used as the pump source for the longitudinal pump geometry. The laser output power and slope efficiency were measured with laser rods of different length. The 340 mW output power with 26% slope efficiency is obtained from a 4 mm long crystal.
