Abstract

We have made use of the multi-model calculations of upward and downward spectral irradiance of Braslau and Dave (1973) (BD) and the multi-ozone level calculations of Dave and Halpern (1975) (DH). The model-specific character of the BD data enables us to isolate and model separately the effects of Rayleigh scattering, ozone absorption, and aerosol scattering and absorption (in that order). The actinic flux "data" that we made use of consisted of calculated values of Peterson (1976, 1979).
