Optimization of holding beam for low-distortion amplification of 16-QAM signal using SOA

Abstract

Holding beam(HB) reduces amplitude and phase distortions in amplifying modulated signal using SOA. We present the experimental analysis of HB optimization for 32 Gbaud 16-QAM signal to maximise the signal gain while minimising the BER.
