Abstract

It is well-known that Persistent spectral Hole Burning (PHB) can occur in electronic transitions of porphines or related molecules embedded in amorphous matrices. Through PHB in those molecules, the temperature dependence of homogeneous line width in glasses and spectral diffusion have been extensively studied. Surprisingly, little attention has been paid to the spectral distribution of photoproducts which result from the PHB although it could enlighten the hole-burning mechanism in amorphous materials [1]. Here, we report on this problem for octaethylporphin/polystyrene as solute/host couple.
