Observation of wideband slow light in chirped photonic crystal waveguide directional coupler

Abstract

We fabricated a directional coupler consisting of chirped photonic crystal waveguides with opposite dispersion. We observed c/15 − c/70 slow light in a wide wavelength range of 30 nm.
