Slow Light Propagation in Photorefractive Crystals

Abstract

When recording a dynamic refractive index grating, two light waves create a highly dispersive medium where they propagate themselves. This may lead to considerable pulse deceleration what we demonstrate with photorefractive BaTiO3 and Sn2P2S6.
