Controlled Slowlight in Photonic Crystals

Abstract

Anomalous dispersion which generates slowlight can be flexibly designed in photonic crystals, so that a delay and bandwidth are balanced and higher order dispersion is suppressed. Such slowlight is demonstrated in photonic crystal waveguide devices.
