Broad bandwidth slow light, enabled by surface plasmons and polaritons

Abstract

We discuss a few different slow light systems, enabled by polaritons and surface plasmons: slow light in resonant photonic crystals, and small modal area surface plasmon waveguides, with low group velocities over unusually large bandwidths.
