Optical control of the Faraday Effect in a Slow-light Medium

Abstract

We demonstrate modified Faraday polarization rotation of an optical field controlled by a pump beam in hot rubidium vapour. Induced rotations of greater than π/2 rad are seen with a transmission of 95%.
