Abstract

A large array of light modulators is one of the key building blocks for optical computing and interconnection. Multiple quantum well (MQW) based asymmetric Fabry-Perot (ASFP) modulators1-6 are a promising candidate for providing the basic surface normal switching function with high contrast and throughput, low switching energy and insertion loss.
