Abstract

We present a pathway to the fabrication of structured spherical nanoparticles that leverages the scalability of fiber fabrication technology and an in-fiber Playteau-Rayleigh capillary instability. Thermal treatment of multi-material fibers post-drawing produces spherical nanoparticles.
