Intrinsically Single-mode High-power Fiber Lasers Utilizing LMA Fibers Directly Fabricated by MCVD

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We report on the development and performance of extremely low NA Yb doped fibers preforms (<0.03), fabricated directly by a conventional Modified Chemical Vapor Deposition (MCVD) technique. No micro-structuring was necessary to realize these fibers.
