Abstract

Based on a single fiber, a laser for both cw- and ns-pulsed operation with up to 1 kW average power, up to 16 mJ pulse energy and a BPP of 4 mm mrad is presented. More than 10 mJ are realized in a commercial cw product-platform enabling a reliable and low cost system. The fundamental limitations of pulse energy, fluence and average power are shown and a concept for further scaling is presented.
