Abstract

In this invited paper, we discuss large-girth LDPC codes suitable for high-speed optical transmission, and describe several reduced-complexity LDPC-decoding algorithms. We evaluate the quantization effect BER performance degradation and discuss FPGA implementation of reduced-complexity LDPC-decoders.
