Coded Modulation and its Application to Fiber-optic Communication Systems

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The tutorial reviews Shannon’s channel capacity and spectral efficiency. A high-order modulation method is reviewed that approaches capacity extremely closely by using Probabilistic Amplitude Shaping (PAS) with a Constant Composition Distribution Matching (CCDM) algorithm. Article not available.
