Real-Time MIMO-DSP for Coherent SDM Transmission Systems

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Transmitting parallel streams of data over coupled waveguides or modes is a promising approach for increasing the per-fiber capacity. We will discuss performance vs. complexity trade-offs of real-time multiple-input-multiple-output digital signal-processing schemes that separate the coupled streams at the receiver.
