Experimental Demonstration of Reach Increase for High Capacity Optical Transmission Systems by Probabilistic Shaping

Abstract

We review an experimental assessment of probabilistic shaping applied for long haul optical transmission at high capacity. Compared to pragmatic QAM formats reach gains up to 39% have been observed.
