Abstract

We propose a generalized Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) scheme for spectrally-efficient coherent optical fiber transmission system. Our approach represents the FTN signal as multiple independent streams, which enables the application of a low-complexity multi-stage symbol-by-symbol detection.
