Experimental Demonstration of Optical Comparison Operation with 4-bit QPSK Modulated Signals for Optical and Electrical Converted Viterbi Decoding

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate an operation of optical comparators designed for 4-bit QPSK-modulated signals of “00 00” and “11 00” to realize an optical Viterbi-decoding. We achieved correct operations for the proposed scheme at 10 Gbaud.
