Four Dimensional Probabilistic Shaping for Fiber-Optic Communication

Abstract

Four-dimensional probabilistic shaping is proposed using a shell-mapper for distribution matching and an LDPC code for error correction, instantiating the Probabilistic Amplitude Shaping (PAS) architecture. Increased rates and reduced non-linear phase noise effects are observed.
