Power efficient communication employing phase sensitive pre-amplified receiver

Abstract

We show that a simple Quadrature phase shift keying modulation with a phase-sensitive pre-amplified coherent receiver is the most sensitive coherent solution, outperforming well-known power efficient multi-dimensional modulation formats with coherent detection.
