Modelling of propagation effects in SDM fibers

Abstract

This presentation reviews the modelling of some of the main propagation effects in coupled-core multi-core fibers for space-division multiplexed transmission. The focus is on the characterization of modal dispersion, its control through fiber design, and its interplay with fiber nonlinearities.
