Illposedness and non-linearity in Optical Tomography of scattering media

Abstract

This talk discusses non-linearity and illposedness in optical tomography. We present the albedo operator as an analysis tool for the transport equation and relate it to the Robin to Neumann map for 2nd order PDEs. The decomposition of the latter presents insight into illposedness.
