Abstract

A method is demonstrated that separates the overall luminance loss of OLEDs during degradation into corresponding reductions in emitter photoluminescence and exciton formation. Devices based on the green phosphor tris[2-phenylpyridinato-C2,N]iridium(III) (Ir(ppy)3) are characterized.
