Temperature Independent Fiber Bragg Current Sensing for High Voltage Power Transmission Utilizing LED Source

Abstract

Proposed is a novel solution for current measurement using a Terfenol-D coated Fiber Bragg Grating that responds to magnetically induced strain produced by current inside power lines. Through adaptive filtering, temperature independence is achieved.
