Impact Detection in Aeronautical Structures Using Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) Arrays

Abstract

This work analyzes the use of Bragg gratings to detect impacts in composite aeronautical structures. The results show that it can be possible to detect the impacts, but also that specific equipment is necessary.
