Suspended core polyethylene fiber for bio-sensing applications in the terahertz region

Abstract

For the first time we demonstrate the possibility of using suspended core polyethylene fibers for the sensing of E. coli. Diameter of our fiber is 5.1 mm, it has 150 µm suspended core which is strongly isolated from the environment.
